A close view of a counselling conversation in a quiet room

01About

A practice built around one plain question: is this the right place for you?

This site exists to help you decide whether to make contact, not to persuade you. It describes how appointments are arranged, who may be involved, and where the limits of our work sit.

Written plainly

Where we cannot verify something, such as a fee, a registration or a waiting time, it is not published here. It is confirmed with you directly.

Position

Therapy is an ordinary professional service that people use for ordinary reasons, at difficult moments.

People contact a practice like this one for many reasons: a period that has become hard to manage alone, a relationship under strain, a decision that will not resolve, a loss, or a wish to understand a pattern that keeps repeating. None of that requires a diagnosis beforehand, and this website cannot and does not offer one.

Our role at the beginning is narrow and practical. We listen to what you are looking for, explain what a course of work might involve, and are clear about whether a clinician here is appropriately qualified for it. If they are not, that is worth knowing early.

Work is undertaken only by professionals who hold current registration or licensing with the regulator that applies to them in their jurisdiction. Where a professional role has limits, whether on assessment, on prescribing or on the populations they see, those limits are stated rather than blurred.

Principles

Four commitments that hold whatever the work turns out to be

i
Nothing is claimed that cannot be shown
Credentials, registrations, training and areas of practice are described only as they actually stand. We do not describe work as specialised, certified or evidence-based as a marketing phrase.
ii
No outcome is promised
Therapy is a process with genuine uncertainty. A clinician can describe how they work, what is typical and what they would review with you, but not how you will feel in twelve weeks.
iii
As little information as possible is collected
Before a first appointment we need a name, a way to reply and a sense of the format you want. Health information belongs in a conversation with a clinician, not in a web form.
iv
Costs are settled before the work starts
The fee, the session length, the cancellation terms and any insurance or reimbursement question are confirmed with you in writing before a first appointment is held.
