Accessibility
This site should work whatever you are reading it with
It is built to the WCAG 2.2 AA principles: semantic structure, full keyboard operation, visible focus, honest text alternatives, and layouts that hold at large text sizes and high zoom.
On this website
- Every page has one main heading and a nested heading structure that reflects its content.
- All navigation, forms and expandable sections work by keyboard alone, with a focus outline that is always visible.
- A skip link to the main content appears as soon as you begin tabbing.
- Text and interface colours are chosen to hold their contrast against the paper background.
- Layouts reflow without horizontal scrolling at roughly 200% zoom and at small screen widths.
- Motion is minimal, and animation is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
Accessibility work is never finished. If something on this site is difficult to use, such as a control you cannot reach, text you cannot read, or a form you cannot complete, please tell us what happened and what you were using. It will be fixed.
For appointments themselves, access needs matter more than they do here. Step-free entry, an accessible bathroom, a quieter waiting arrangement, a longer appointment, a support person present, an interpreter, or written follow-up instead of a telephone call: mention it when you first make contact and it will be arranged in advance where we can.
